Windows 11 WSL2 Performance Is Quite Competitive Against Ubuntu 20.04 LTS / Ubuntu 21.10
For developers and others forced to run Microsoft Windows due to job requirements or similar but wanting a Linux environment, WSL2 continues to be one of the most convenient ways of achieving such short of running an entire virtualization setup.
For most workloads, WSL2 performance is "good enough" for most users.
For areas like code compilation performance and others similar real-world scenarios involving lots of file accesses, WSL2 does incur some measurable overhead.
