Windows 10 WSL CPU Scaling Performance vs. Linux
First up was Rodinia where it was by far the slowest using CentOS 7 and its older compiler stack. Meanwhile, Windows 10 WSL was performing right in line with the more modern Linux distributions including Fedora, Clear Linux, and Ubuntu.
Though now with Rodinia's OpenMP CFD Solver it is showing Windows 10 WSL coming in as the slowest, each step of the way behind the native Linux distributions compared to Ubuntu 16.04 via WSL.
With NAS running its embarrassingly parallel (EP.B) test we see Windows 10 WSL Ubuntu running slower than the tested Linux distribuitons bare metal on this Core i9 7900X system.
While in John The Ripper with its OpenMP threading, Windows 10 WSL was running right in line with the other Linux distributions while here is where Ubuntu 17.04 was the fastest.
