Windows 10 vs. Ubuntu 17.04 With Intel Kabylake Mobile Graphics
And these quick Windows 10 vs. Ubuntu Linux OpenGL performance numbers for the HD Graphics 620:
Under OpenArena, the performance was better on Ubuntu 17.04 than Windows 10.
With Unigine Valley, the performance was effectively the same.
The frame-rate was also the same with Unigine Valley at the higher resolution, albeit this is a very demanding benchmark for the Intel HD Graphics 620 Kabylake hardware on either operating system.
In the synthetic OpenGL test cases via GpuTest, the Windows 10 Intel performance was much better than either configuration tested on Ubuntu 17.04.
The Unigine and OpenArena results were competitive, but GpuTest for the micro OpenGL test cases show the Linux open-source driver stack has a ways to go.
