Scientific Linux, openSUSE, Ubuntu Tests
The performance of the Fortran-based OpenMP-using NAS Parallel Benchmarks were largely the same across the four tested compilers even with the slightly different GNU Compiler Collection (GCC) releases found in each of the distributions. The only big exception was the EP.B performance spiking for openSUSE 11.4 (Linux 2.6.37 kernel and GCC 4.5), but then with LU.A, MG.B, SP.A, and UA.A the openSUSE 11.4 release was lagging behind.
