Ubuntu 12.04 Desktops Impact Performance, Power Consumption

Unity and KDE were behind the other desktops with the Lightsmark performance, but this time the LXDE desktop was going through the most power.

Depending upon your graphics driver/hardware and desktop settings, the power consumption and performance can vary quite a bit between the different desktop environment options. There is not a definitive all-out winner if wanting to pick a desktop environment based upon power efficiency or performance.
