Early Ubuntu 14.04 Intel XMir Benchmarks
For many of the more demanding OpenGL games there's very little overhead now to using XMir over the default X.Org Server environment.
Overall, the XMir performance is in decent shape when using Intel graphics and the latest open-source code, but still it isn't something Ubuntu 14.04 users will have to worry about due to the conservative state in Long-Term Support releases. Those that do want to experiment with Mir/XMir can easily do so via the packages found in the Ubuntu Trusty Tahr archive.
