Radeon Gallium3D Can Beat AMD's Catalyst In Select Workloads

With Tremulous, another non-demanding ioquake3 game, the Radeon Gallium3D driver is now up to the speed of Catalyst as found in Ubuntu 8.04.4 LTS. It only took 4~5 years after the Catalyst driver was EOL'ed to achieve this performance on the old OpenGL game.

With Urban Terror, the Radeon Gallium3D driver still isn't quite up to the performance level of Radeon Gallium3D.

Very interesting was when running the Xonotic game with low-quality settings at 1280 x 1024 and 1920 x 1080, the open-source Radeon Gallium3D driver on Ubuntu 13.04 is now as fast as Catalyst from a half-decade ago.
