Ubuntu 16.04 vs. 18.04 Performance On Six Systems

The Python performance was faster on the Intel systems with Ubuntu 18.04 but slightly regressed with the AMD EPYC 7601 and Ryzen 7 2700X platforms.

The NGINX single-threaded AB test was the same speed to slightly slower with Ubuntu 18.04 with the exception of the i9-7980XE box performing better.

The Apache web server performance too was also slightly lower under Ubuntu 18.04.

The PHP performance is significantly faster with Ubuntu 18.04 LTS thanks to the move from PHP 7.0 to PHP 7.2.
