20-Way NVIDIA GeForce / AMD Radeon GPU Comparison For Rise of The Tomb Raider On Vulkan/Linux
First up is 1080p at low quality settings.
From these results we see the Radeon RX 580 on RADV competing well with the GeForce GTX 1060. That is great to see but the Vega GPU performance on RADV relative to NVIDIA is still a bit poor with the RX Vega 64 on this game coming in shy of the GeForce GTX 1070. The older GeForce GTX 960 graphics card could still run roughly around 60 FPS with this configuration.
At 1440p while maintaining low quality settings, the Radeon RX 580 remains in line with the GeForce GTX 1060 as should be expected. The RX Vega 64 is slightly more competitive with the GeForce GTX 1070 though that's still shy why of where the Vega GPUs should be performing. At 1440p with low quality settings, the GeForce GTX 1060 was still delivering around a 60 FPS average.
At 3840 x 2160 with low quality settings, the RX 580 Polaris graphics card kept sticking to its fight with the GeForce GTX 1060. The RX Vega 64 hardware meanwhile was just a little bit faster than the GeForce GTX 1070. The GeForce GTX 980 Ti would be about the NVIDIA cut-off point for Rise of the Tomb Raider at 4K with low quality settings using Vulkan, but even then in some scenes the frame-rate dips well below 60 frames per second.
