With Intel's own Embree software project the results were mixed and also dependent upon whether using the ISPC-optimized binary. Renoir saw several cases where Ubuntu 20.10 was faster than Windows while with Tiger Lake it seemed to favor Windows but not by as wide of margins as seen with some of the other workloads being tested.

With Intel's SVT-AV1 open-source AV1 video encoder the performance between Windows and Linux on the Dell XPS 13 9310 was much tighter than the Windows lead on Renoir.

With Intel's other HEVC/H.265 and VP9 video encoders the results were much tighter and normally favoring Windows but that was also somewhat dependent on the content being encoded.

With x264, Tiger Lake was slightly faster with Ubuntu 20.10 while Renoir was slightly faster with Windows.
