Across nearly 100 different benchmarks were run in total on both of these AMD Socket SP5 coolers from SilverStone. In none of the benchmarks was the XE04-SP5 encountering any thermal throttling or showing any inability of being able to effectively cool this 400 Watt AMD EPYC Turin processor.

Here is the CPU thermal data over the course of all benchmarks executed. On average the SilverStone XE360-SP5 AIO liquid cooling allowed the EPYC 9655 96-core 400 Watt processor to run with a 51 degree average and peak of 74 degrees while the XE04-SP5 ran with a 63 degree average and a recorded peak at 88 degrees. The XE04-SP5 active heatsink proved capable of cooling a 400 Watt EPYC processor without thermal throttling / performance impairments within a 4U server chassis but for those wanting to ensure your EPYC server processor is running cool for AI/HPC workloads and similar, the XE360-SP5 allows additional headroom especially if toying around with higher cTDP limits and the power determinism mode or opting for a server build going for one of the 500 Watt EPYC Turin SKUs.
