Memcached is one of the real-world workloads affected by these mitigations on the Intel hardware though the Sandybridge/Ivybridge CPUs still were faster than the AMD FX CPU competition.

The Nginx web-server also took around a 16% hit to the performance with the default mitigations. Of course, in a production web server with multiple processes, the SMT/HT impact will be a hard hit compared to the single-threaded AB program generating the workload for this test.
