And in the new Git test profile measuring the time to carry out various Git commands using the GTK source repository, the Model B Plus is just a few seconds faster than the previous Raspberry Pi 3 Model B.

Overall, the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ is a modest upgrade to the Raspberry Pi family while retaining the same $35 USD price tag and excellent community built around the Pi. Arguably most exciting with the Model B+ is the significantly better networking performance for wired and wireless (WiFi testing is still on my TODO list for this board) as well as much better thermal performance too. When it comes to the CPU benchmarks shown, the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ tends to offer noticeably better performance thanks to the 200MHz increase on the four Cortex-A53 cores. With this speed boost, the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ is roughly in line now with the ODROID-C2, the $46 USD Hardkernel ARM SBC that is powered by four Cortex-A53 cores at 1.5GHz on the Amlogic S905 SoC.
