In only a few tests did moving past Linux 5.15 on the Core i9 13900K desktop provide any real performance benefits in the workloads tested.

Outside of the many workloads showing lower performance on Linux 5.18+ due to the PBRSB-eIBRS mitiigation, the rest of the results were rather uneventful for this testing on the Core i9 13900K desktop. Those interested can find all the benchmark results in full via this result page.

Long story short, even sticking to the default Linux 5.15 kernel -- as found on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and others -- on Intel Raptor Lake systems should be largely in good shape. On newer kernel versions there are newer features and new/updated drivers that may help some of your devices but as far as the Raptor Lake i9-13900K CPU performance is concerned there wasn't much of a difference besides when crossing that threshold around the PBRSB-eIBRS mitigation.
