Testing The Open-Source "RADV" Radeon Vulkan Driver vs. AMDGPU-PRO
Next are some more modest 1080p OpenGL and Vulkan tests.
At 1080p with OpenGL, Dota 2 was a few frames per second faster with the Mesa RadeonSI Gallium3D driver over AMDGPU-PRO.
RadeonSI is also still showing lower CPU usage than with AMDGPU-PRO.
When looking at the Vulkan results for Dota 2 @ 1080p the RADV vs. AMDGPU-PRO numbers are no longer very similar. With the R9 Fury graphics card its RADV performance was similar to that of AMDGPU-PRO. However, with the RX 480 it lost a few frames while for some strange reason the R9 285 took a performance nose dive. Likely some regression/bug that needs to be worked out still in RADV.
