AMD Radeon VII Linux Benchmarks - Powerful Open-Source Graphics For Compute & Gaming
With the F1 2018 game, which runs on Linux via Steam Play and DXVK, the Radeon VII was aligned with the GeForce RTX 2080.
When firing up The Talos Principle with its OpenGL renderer, the Radeon VII came out ahead of the GeForce RTX 2080.
When switching to the Talos Principle's Vulkan renderer, the frame-rates were higher than the OpenGL renderer but now the Radeon VII came in immediately behind the RTX 2080. From the tests we've been running, the most competitive Radeon VII vs. RTX 2080 Linux performance is with OpenGL games on RadeonSI while using the common Mesa RADV Vulkan driver tends to come up a bit shy.
With Deus Ex: Mankind Divided at 4K, which renders on Linux using OpenGL, the Radeon VII came right in line with the RTX 2080.
