With ET: Legacy, sans a regression in Ubuntu 16.10, the performance has been close to the modern-day performance since Ubuntu 16.04.0. With Ubuntu 14.10 on the open-source driver (Ubuntu 14.04 didn't run this game) the average FPS was just 46 while with Ubuntu 17.10 it's at over 230 frames per second.

OpenArena ran on the HD 7950 with all tested releases. From Ubuntu 14.04 to 17.10 is a 56% improvement in frame-rate for this game over the past three and a half years.
