2009 Linux Graphics Survey Results
The next question focused upon the key graphics interests or concerns of users, and there were plenty of choices. The most prominent interest/concern was with the driver's 3D performance followed by stability, then 2D performance, and then licensing / open-source nature of the driver. The least interest/concern was multi-GPU rendering.
Our second to the last question asked what kind of tasks they engaged in on their Linux systems whether it be gaming, data visualization, visual desktop effects, or GPU computing. Video playback was by far the most popular followed by visual desktop effects and then gaming in third.
Ending out our 2009 Linux Graphics Survey results, a far majority of the users that responded to this survey classified themselves as being a mainstream user while 17% classified themselves as an enthusiast gamer, 15% as being a professional 2D user, and then 7% as being a professional 3D user.
