For some brief benchmarks, from a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon I compared its internal Intel Wireless 7265, the Panda USB PAU06, and this new Panda USB PAU09 models for some throughput benchmarks with iperf3. The iperf3 server was a Core i7 6800K box connected to the wired LAN. Obviously the laptop remained in the same location while testing each of these different WLAN adapters.

Overall, iperf3 was showing results roughly as expected that the Intel 7265 Wireless was the fastest followed by the PAU09 and then the older PAU06.

Overall, I'm happy with the Panda PAU09 for being a nicer model than the PAU06, still only costing about $20 USD, and working out noticeably better while being well advertised as a Linux-supported product. Those interested in the PAU09 can find it currently at Amazon.com for $23 USD.
