OpenSUSE 12.1 Is Set For Release Today, Here Are Benchmarks

For those interested, here are some quick benchmarks of clean installs of the x86_64 versions of openSUSE 11.4 and openSUSE 12.1 using the stock settings for each. Testing was done from an Intel Core i7 720QM notebook with an Intel SSD and NVIDIA Quadro graphics. For the benchmarks that were run, the most important items to note is that openSUSE 11.4 ships with the Linux 2.6.37 kernel and GCC 4.5 compiler while openSUSE 12.1 is on Linux 3.1 with GCC 4.6.
