NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti
When starting with the open-source Nexuiz game, the performance of the EVGA GeForce GTX 550 Ti was right in line with the Radeon HD 6770 when running both graphics cards at 2560 x 1600 on the respective proprietary drivers. The GeForce GTX 460 Fermi was delivering about 15% more frames per second than this factory-overclocked GTX 550 Ti.
Xonotic, the successor to Nexuiz, much favored the AMD Catalyst driver to NVIDIA's Linux binary offering. Instead of the EVGA GTX 550 Ti running close to the Radeon HD 6770, the AMD GPU was now 42% faster than the graphics card on the review block today. The Radeon HD 6770, which is basically a re-branded Radeon HD 5770 Evergreen GPU, was even 12% faster than the GeForce GTX 460 for the latest release of this open-source multi-platform shooter.
With the VDrift racing game on Linux, the Radeon HD 6770 was in line with the GeForce GTX 460, and about 22% faster than the EVGA GeForce GTX 550 Ti.
