NVIDIA 190.16 Driver Brings OpenGL 3.2 To Linux
The GtkDrawingArea - Pixbufs performance had regressed just a bit with the 190.xx series driver.
Lastly, the 190.16 and 185.18.14 drivers did slightly worse than the 180.51 release when it came to the image scaling performance using X Render, as measured by QGears2.
For the most part, with the hardware we tested today, we could not find many performance gains compared to the 180.xx/185.xx series. There were changes here and there, but as a whole, this driver did not appear any faster, while some other NVIDIA hardware customers have reported gains. While there may not be verifiable performance gains, the NVIDIA 190.xx series does deliver support for the unreleased OpenGL 3.2 specification and will be accompanied by Open Computing Language (OpenCL) support. There are also fixes and other enhancements that make up this driver.
