NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 To RTX 2080 Ti Graphics/Compute Performance
The open-source Tesseract game is one of the titles that can still run well on the GTX 680 -- even at 4K with OpenGL -- while still continue scaling through the new high-end Turing parts... In this case the game was 25% faster with the RTX 2080 Ti over the GTX 1080 Ti. The largest leap in performance was between the GTX 980 Ti and GTX 1080 Ti where there was a 52% increase in frame-rate. The GTX 680 to RTX 2080 Ti performance is nearly a 4x difference over the span of six years between these graphics cards.
On a performance-per-Watt basis, the RTX 2080 Ti is 20% better than the Pascal-based GTX 1080 Ti and a 2.7x over the Kepler GTX 680.
The synthetic GpuTests ran on all of the hardware tested. The impact from Pascal to Turing still isn't as great as from Maxwell to Pascal, but the RTX 2080 Ti does come out 29% faster in Furmark.
The performance-per-Watt under Furmark was an 18% generational improvement with Turing.
Tessmark as an OpenGL tessellation benchmark saw a 32% increase in performance with Turing and compared the GTX 680 has improved by 4.1x.
