Mesa 20.0's RADV + ACO Vulkan Driver Now Consistently Beating AMD's AMDVLK Linux Driver
When taking the geometric mean of all Linux gaming benchmarks that successfully ran on all driver/GPU combinations, this is the outcome. The Radeon RX 5700 XT was just over 2% using RADV ACO compared to the official AMDVLK driver while the new Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB (Navi 14) graphics card was 5% faster. With the Radeon RX Vega 64 was 6% higher frame-rate with RADV ACO over AMDVLK and lastly the Radeon RX 580 was 6% faster using Valve's preferred AMD open-source Vulkan Linux driver stack.
