Starting with the Flexible IO Tester (FIO), there isn't much to see in the way of file-system performance changes for any of the four tested file-systems when moving from Linux 3.10 to Linux 3.11. The fastest file-system though remains EXT4 for this test from an SSD followed by F2FS and XFS that are about even and then Btrfs is the distant last-place finisher.

For the first FS-Mark test when dealing with 1,000 files of 1MB size, it appears the performance for EXT4/F2FS/XFS may recede slightly on the Linux 3.11 kernel, but the fastest performer overall is still Samsung's Flash-Friendly File-System.

In the next FS-Mark test dealing with multiple threads (four threads), F2FS is still the fastest but there's less change compared to the open-source file-system competition.
