Benchmarks Of The Official KQ ZFS Linux Module

When looking at the Dbench performance using six clients, the ZFS file-system popped into first place and was running noticeably better than the three Linux-native file-systems. ZFS managed to run at around 42MB/s while Btrfs was at 29MB/s and EXT4 at under 25MB/s.

Switching over to FS-Mark, with the test of creating 1000 files of 1MB size, the ZFS file-system performance under Ubuntu Linux was close to that of Btrfs, but was slightly behind EXT4 and those three all had a noticeable gap when compared to XFS, which had a strong lead in this particular disk test profile.

When carrying out the same 1000 files / 1MB size FS-Mark test but with not forcing sync/fsync, the Btrfs file-system popped into the lead with processing over 68 files per second on average while ZFS and EXT4 both were going at 48 files per second and XFS coming in at just 42 files per second.
