The RX Vega hardware was competing well on the open-source RADV driver against the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 series with the Rise of the Tomb Raider Vulkan Linux port.

The value proposition between these high-end cards were similar with the current NewEgg prices.

Dawn of War III with Vulkan is tough at 4K.

Thrones of Britannia at 4K does very well with Vega on the RADV driver where even the RX Vega 56 manages to match the GTX 1080 performance.

But with medium quality settings at 4K, only the highest end GPUs of today would perform well.

If you are in the market for a new graphics card upgrade now that GPU availability has been improving and the prices stabilizing more, I hope you found this large selection of Linux gaming benchmarks at 1080p/1440p/4K useful as well as the current performance-per-dollar findings.
