Intel Linux OpenGL Driver Leading Over Apple OS X

Aside from when running Nexuiz at the lower resolutions, Ubuntu 13.04 was noticeably faster than Apple OS X 10.8.3. When installing the Linux 3.10 kernel and Mesa 9.2 Git over Linux 3.8 and Mesa 9.1, the performance rose by an additional 13%.

With the rather visually lacking OpenArena 0.8.5 open-source game, Ubuntu 13.04 was dramatically faster than OS X 10.8.3. Ubuntu 13.04 was 71% faster with its Intel Linux graphics driver over Apple's own internally developed driver bundled in OS X.

With the Warsow Qfusion-based first person shooter, Ubuntu Linux was easily faster than OS X 10.8.3. The clean Ubuntu 13.04 install was 12% faster than OS X 10.8.3 for this popular open-source game while installing the new kernel and Mesa code led to a 28% advantage over Apple's platform.
