AHCI vs. IDE Modes With A SATA 3.0 SSD On Linux
The AHCI results are what one would expect for maximizing their disk's performance while also having all available features. With a modern Linux distribution (or even the BSDs and Solaris too) there should not be any problems running in the Advanced Host Configuration Interface mode.
