Intel Ivy Bridge Gallium3D Performance Still Slow

The ILO Gallium3D driver doesn't have a proper GLSL compiler and other fundamental disadvantages to the Intel i965 classic driver that undergoes daily improvements and optimizations. Both drivers leverage the same Intel kernel DRM.

The ILO Gallium3D driver also didn't do too well for GpuTest with triangle being the only case where it rendered properly for this Ivy Bridge Ultrabook.

The ILO Gallium3D performance isn't up to scratch with the Intel i965 Mesa DRI driver, which in turn is still trying to compete with the Intel Windows driver. Regardless, the ILO Gallium3D driver is an interesting hobbyist project and worth toying with this weekend if you're an Intel Linux enthusiast.
