GpuTest also saw quite significant gains with the latest Linux graphics driver code from Intel.

Overall, the latest Linux numbers (using the 3.11 kernel and Mesa 9.3-devel) look very good for Intel's Iris Pro Graphics 5200. The performance should be quite competitive to mid-range GPUs on the other open-source AMD / NVIDIA Linux drivers. There are also more Iris Pro graphics optimizations ahead with the Linux 3.12 kernel. More thorough benchmarks of the Intel Iris Pro Graphics 5200 will come once the System76 Galago UltraPro ultrabook review sample arrives at Phoronix. Stay tuned for more Intel Iris Linux testing in the next week or two. Thanks again go out to Svetoslav Trochev for lending us access to his Core i7 4750HQ system.

Besides the results shown in this article, I've also uploaded some additional Iris Pro graphics benchmarks to 1309052-SO-INTELIRIS27. While waiting on my next batch of Iris Pro graphics benchmarks to come you can also compare your own system's performance against today's numbers with the Phoronix Test Suite by running phoronix-test-suite benchmark 1309055-SO-SYSTEM76G36.
