Intel Xeon 6980P "Granite Rapids" Linux Benchmarks
With RELION, the Xeon 6980P 2P was matching the dual AMD EPYC 9684X performance.
With the LULESH hydrodynamics program it was already delivering leading performance with Emerald Rapids while now with Granite Rapids its lead has been extended much further.
With Granite Rapids, Intel is much more competitive for HPC workloads and once again returns to being able to deliver leading-edge performance. It will be interesting to see next month if AMD EPYC Turin is able to retake the crown.
Excellent performance for the Xeon 6980P in the popular GROMACS molecular dynamics software.
For the QuantLib quantitative finance software, the Xeon 6980P was delivering the best performance of the tested server processors.
With HPCG we see incredible results out of Granite Rapids with MRDIMM memory modules. Stunning generational gains driven in large part by the MRDIMM 8800 MT/s memory. It will be interesting to see where the Xeon 6980P performance comes in with DDR5-6400.
