The Core i5 12400 was holding up well for compression tests across 7-Zip, Zstd, LZ4, and XZ.

Even across creator workloads the Core i5 12400 stood up strong against the AMD Ryzen 7 5700G. The "creator" workloads included OSPray, Blender, Appleseed, V-RAY, IndigoBench, SVT-VP9, SVT-HEVC, SVT-AV1, AOM-AV1, Rav1e, AVIFenc, Stargate digital audio workstation, libraw, WebP encode, JPEGXL encode, RawTherapee, libjpeg-turbo tjbench, GIMP, Hugin, Darktable, Embree, ASTCenc, and Etcpak.

There was also a good Alder Lake showing for the crypto performance...

Machine learning benchmarks carried out for this article included TNN, TensorFlow-Lite, ONNX, and PlaidML.
