The Core i7 1280P did come out in front for some workloads like the Crafty open-source chess engine, but was consuming significantly more power than the other laptops tested -- including the Ryzen 9 5900HX.

With Intel's Embree ray-tracing kernels, the Core i7 1280P fell behind the Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U and Ryzen 9 5900HX performance.

For Intel's SVT-AV1 open-source AV1 video encoder the AMD laptops were leading with the more quality-minded presets while at the highest preset focused on real-time performance the Alder Lake P did come out in front.

But if you are more concerned about power efficiency while video encoding with your notebook, the AMD Cezanne processors were significantly better.

Similarly in the other video encoding benchmarks the Core i7 1280P tended to outperform the other tested notebooks just when using the highest presets.
