Intel Core i7 1185G7 Linux Performance
Compression tests with Gzip, Zstd, and LZ4 were another case where the Core i7 1165G7 with the Dell XPS 13 9310 was faster than the same laptop model with the Core i7 1185G7.
When running a wide span of creator workloads, the Ryzen 5 5500U narrowly beat out the Core i7 1185G7. Among the creator workloads benchmarks were OSPray, Yafaray, Blender, Indigobench, OCRMyPDF, Intel SVT video encoders, AOM-AV1, WebP encode, RawTherapee, GIMP, Hugin, Darktable, GEGL, Embree OIDN, OpenVKL, Draco, RNNoise, and others.
For electronic design work with NGSPICE, the i7-1185G7 was slightly behind the i7-1165G7.
For encoding benchmarks of SVT-AV1, SVT-VP9, SVT-HEVC, x265, libvpx VP9, dav1d, and AOM-AV1, the Core i7 1185G7 was performing similar to the Ryzen 5 4500U.
The Core i7 1185G7 did perform better for machine loading benchmarks with MNN, NCNN, TNN, Numpy, Deepspeech, RNNoise, and ONNX.
