Kicking things off with Counter-Strike 2 on Linux, the Intel Arc B580 delivers an immediate boost to the performance compared to the prior generation Arc A-Series graphics... Double the performance of the prior generation Arc A580 and nearly that of the Arc A770 flagship as well. Big gains for the Battlemage graphics with Counter-Strike 2 on Linux.

One caveat with the B580 support is that as of Linux 6.13 there wasn't any working GPU temperature monitoring support on the B580, but hopefully that will be addressed soon.

From the GPU power consumption there is a big difference going from the A-Series to B-Series graphics cards. Where as with the A580 / A750 / A770 graphics cards running Counter-Strike 2 they were running at full-power nearly the entire time, the Arc B580 GPU power consumption is spread out in reaching the lower power states more often and similar to the spread seen with the tested higher-end NVIDIA and AMD graphics cards. The Arc B580 GPU power consumption on average was the lowest (note the RTX 4060 graphics card tested didn't expose any GPU power reporting via NVIDIA SMI interface). The A580 on average was consuming 114 Watts while running CS2 but it dropped to 93 Watts for the B580 while running much faster too.

One additional item to point out with the GPU power results is that the idle/minimum power draw on the B580 is higher than the AMD/NVIDIA graphics cards and similar to the A-Series. The Arc B580 never dropped below 36 Watts compared to the NVIDIA and AMD graphics cards hitting under 10 Watts in their brief idle periods.

On a performance-per-Watt basis the Arc B580 was comparable to the AMD Radeon RX 7600 series and a huge leap over the prior-gen A-Series graphics cards.

On a performance per dollar basis, the Arc B580 Graphics are competitive at $249 USD compared to the AMD and NVIDIA wares.

The Arc B580 also enjoyed a nice boost in performance over the A770 for Counter-Strike 2 at 4K. The other Intel Arc A-Series graphics cards were hanging with Counter-Strike 2 when run at 3840 x 2160. The B580 still comes in below the Radeon RX 7600 series but was comparable in power efficiency and value.
