Trying DragonFlyBSD & FreeBSD On The Intel Core i9 9900K With ASUS PRIME Z390-A
M-Queens performed about the same on DragonFlyBSD against the Linux distributions. This test failed to build with Clang on FreeBSD 12.
DragonFlyBSD 5.3 did have a narrow win under the OpenSSL signing benchmark.
The Python and PHP performance were faster on the Linux distributions over the tested BSDs.
Of 28 benchmarks ran out-of-the-box on this Intel Core i9 9900K + ASUS PRIME Z390-A system, DragonFlyBSD 5.3 ended up coming in first place for two of the benchmarks. FreeBSD 12.0 had not won any of the benchmarks against the other operating systems, but we'll run more tests on FreeBSD 12 once its officially out and on a more diverse range of hardware. Of the three Linux distributions, Intel's Clear Linux won 22 of the tests (78% of the time) while Fedora Workstation 29 racked up three wins and Ubuntu 18.10 had one win.
