Even for code compilation workloads taking a few minutes per build, switching to the performance governor can be worthwhile or even Schedutil was found to perform better on this Xeon Platinum 8380 2P server than the default powersave.

The performance governor really paid off as well for the PostgreSQL database server to little surprise. Even the Schedutil governor was leading to better results for some of these PostgreSQL tests than powersave.
