Similarly, switching from the default powersave governor to the performance governor more than doubled the performance on this Intel Xeon Platinum 8380 Ice Lake server... It does raise the question of whether powersave really still makes sense as the default governor on most distributions for Intel CPUs especially on servers or whether it should be tuned more aggressively.

In some cases, using the performance governor makes a world of difference to the Xeon Scalable Ice Lake server performance.
