While for some workloads the latest Linux distributions don't impact the overall performance a lot...

...quite quickly the Linux distributions began to show their wings.

To little surprise, Intel's own Clear Linux platform was really showing its muscles with the Xeon Platinum 8380 Ice Lake server with some wide leads over the other Linux distributions. But even for the other Linux distributions in Rodinia's Leukocyte test, for example, they enjoyed nice improvements compared to the current Ubuntu 20.04 LTS release and the state of Linux simply from last year.

Intel's Clear Linux enjoys its optimized default CFLAGS/CXXFLAGS, the performance governor by default, and a wide variety of optimizations out-of-the-box for delivering a performant experience on modern x86_64 platforms.
