Benchmarks Of Fedora 9 Through 11
With the World of Padman and Urban Terror test profiles there were small performance dips spotted compared to Fedora 9 (and a large drop in performance with OpenArena), and this regression in the Fedora 10 Intel graphics stack can also be spotted in the 2D realm too. With the GtkPerf test profile, the GtkComboBox test took twice as long under Fedora 10 as it did in Fedora 9 and 11. Currently it looks like Fedora Rawhide may be running a bit slower than Fedora 11 when it comes to 2D performance, but development of Fedora 12 is still very early on and xf86-video-intel 2.8, which kills EXA and DRI1 support, has not yet been pulled into the Fedora repository.
It's pretty much the same story with the GtkDrawingArea Pixbufs. Fedora 10 had a nasty Intel Linux graphics problem and Fedora Rawhide seems to be slightly behind Fedora 11 when it comes to the performance.
In our last graphics test, Fedora 10 was faster than Fedora 9 when it came to the GtkRadioButton operation, but there is a nasty regression in Fedora 11. It took 7.84 seconds to run this test under Fedora 10, but it took 74.08 tests to run it under Fedora 11! Fortunately, this performance oddity is already fixed in Rawhide where it has returned to a run-time of 7.57 seconds.
