Fedora 17 vs. Fedora 18 Benchmarks
Benchmarking Fedora 18 when it comes to processor-bound benchmarks is largely uninteresting with most x86 hardware since both Fedora 17 and Fedora 18 are using GCC 4.7.2. There have also been no major kernel changes between F17 and F18 affecting the overall computational performance for most workloads on common hardware. However, there have been file-system, graphics driver, and other subsystem-specific changes that do yield performance differences when comparing these last two Fedora Linux releases. Stay tuned for those additional results beyond our already-published Fedora 18 information.
