Fedora 18 Systemd Boot Performance Is Mixed
Similar to the two earlier systems, the Intel Core i5 laptop on Fedora 18 had its kernel boot time nearly halved compared to Fedora 17. With the latest Fedora 18 updates, there was no change in boot performance.
Unfortunately, the Core i5 systemd boot user-space results also show this laptop taking noticeably more time compared to Fedora 17. It was under four seconds with Fedora 17 but over 34 seconds on Fedora 18.
Due to the user-space slowdown, the overall boot time with Fedora 18 is slower than with Fedora 17 from the Intel x86_64 systems that were used for this preliminary Fedora 18 benchmarking.
