MKL-DNN / oneDNN is an Intel open-source software package and obviously optimized for Intel's own architecture, but in any case the AMD performance generally keeps up with Intel Xeon in most conditions...

For some of the cases in this deep learning library, the AMD EPYC 7002 line-up is actually stronger like with the deconvolution 3D test where the EPYC 7F72 is faster than the Xeon Gold 6258R / Platinum 8280.

For Intel's open-source OSPray ray-tracing engine is another case where AMD is still generally competing with Xeon on Intel software.

In the case of the Intel-developed Embree ray-tracing kernels, the EPYC 7F72 performance did outpace the Xeon Gold 6258R with the pathtracer except when using the ISPC-optimized version. Intel's Implicit SPMD Program Compiler allowed for better performance on Xeon over EPYC with the competing SKUs.
