Amazon EC2 M6i Performance For Intel Ice Lake In The Cloud Benchmarks

With the M6i Ice Lake instances going up to 128 vCPUs, Ice Lake is able to offer a lot more than Graviton2 for workloads that scale well and make efficient use of HT/SMT as well as for workloads benefiting from the additional memory between the two Intel CPU sockets.

Generationally, the Ice Lake instances are a great improvement as shown for the 24xlarge and now with 32xlarge there is further headroom if needed for greater per-instance performance.

On a performance-per-dollar basis, in some workloads the Graviton2 continues to lead there due to costing significantly less than comparable x86_64 instances.
