While Clear Linux with its aggressive CFLAGS/CXXFLAGS by default helps out Intel's distribution with the audio encoding performance by a slim margin.

The R benchmark didn't run on all of the distributions to dependency problems, but for those that did, Clear Linux was much faster than Amazon Linux and Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.

Similarly, the Caffe deep learning performance was much faster on Clear Linux than Debian Stretch or Ubuntu LTS.

And also with Tensorflow...

Clear Linux, Debian 9.2, Ubuntu, and SUSE were the fastest in our Perl benchmark.
