Using FS-Mark as a quick storage benchmark, the results come out to no real surprise and of course the newest Dell XPS laptops were the fastest. The HP EliteBook 8460p provided a good fight thanks to it using a high performance Intel SSD for its time.

With the Golang benchmarks, the Dell XPS 9380 shows its small performance advantage over the 9370 model with Core i7 8550U processor, which still is a great deal faster than other years old laptop hardware.

And a quick look at the Java performance over the years with these Ubuntu Linux laptops from Clarksfield and Sandy Bridge through Whiskey Lake.

If you are looking at the Dell XPS 13 9380 Developer Edition for code development, the 9380 could compile the stock Linux x86_64 kernel's default configuration in under five minutes.

For Rustlang developers as well, the Dell XPS 13 9380 is quite speedy if upgrading from an older laptop.
