DDR4 Memory Speed Tests With The Core i7 6800K On Ubuntu Linux

A few days ago I posted my first Core i7 6800K benchmarks under Ubuntu Linux compared to various other CPUs. Out of requests from some premium members, here are some straight-forward memory clocking tests of the i7-6800K on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS with the Linux 4.8 kernel. Tests were done from dual-channel DDR4 up through quad-channel DDR4 at DDR4-3000MHz.

The memory tests run for this latest round of i7-6800K Broadwell-E benchmarking were:

- 2 x 4GB DDR4-2133
- 2 x 4GB DDR4-2400
- 4 x 4GB DDR4-1600
- 4 x 4GB DDR4-1866
- 4 x 4GB DDR4-2133
- 4 x 4GB DDR4-2400
- 4 x 4GB DDR4-2600
- 4 x 4GB DDR4-2800
- 4 x 4GB DDR4-3000

All of these tests happened with the i7-6800K on the MSI X99A WORKSTATION motherboard. The memory used throughout this testing was the G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 4 x 4GB DDR4-2400MHz memory modules (F4-2400C15Q-16GVR). In all the tests up through DDR4-3000MHz it was completely stable during testing.

Well, for those curious about these memory performance numbers, the Linux results are on the pages ahead. As always, the benchmarking was conducted in a fully-automated and reproducible manner using the open-source Phoronix Test Suite benchmarking software.
