KDE vs. GNOME, X.Org vs. Wayland Radeon Linux Gaming Performance With Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
Rise of the Tomb Raider, Feral's latest Vulkan Linux game port, saw KDE on X.Org and Wayland running about the same speed with the RX Vega 64 while GNOME Shell on Wayland took a few frames hit. The slower RX 580 was seeing similar overhead of (X)Wayland on both KDE and GNOME.
The Radeon GPUs at 4K with Rise of the Tomb Raider continued looking good across both KDE and GNOME, Wayland and X.Org.
