ASUS GeForce 9600GT 512MB

System Setup:

We had tested the ASUS EN9600GT TOP graphics card on a system with an AMD Phenom 9500 Quad-Core processor, Gigabyte MA790FX-DS5 motherboard, 2GB of OCZ DDR2-800 Reaper HPC memory, Seagate 200GB SATA 2.0 hard drive, and Corsair TX750W power supply. The software side was made up of Ubuntu 8.04 LTS Alpha 6 packages with the Linux 2.6.24 kernel and X Server 1.4.0.90. The NVIDIA driver used during testing was 171.06 and on the ATI side was Catalyst 8.3 for Linux.

Running up against this NVIDIA GeForce 9600GT were the following graphics cards: Gigabyte GeForce 8600GTS 256MB, ASUS Radeon HD 3850 256MB, and ASUS Radeon HD 3870 512MB. We had run the ASUS EN9600GT 512MB at its factory overclocked speeds of 720/1000MHz and at NVIDIA's reference speeds of 650/900MHz.

The native Linux benchmarks we had used were Doom 3, Quake 4, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, and GtkPerf. GtkPerf was used to look at the 2D performance of these select graphics cards and during testing each GtkPerf test was run for 1,000 rounds.
